The Strength to Think Differently
At the core of all the art forms is creativity. Artists are the pioneers of human experience. They have the strength to think differently.

Audiences can also be also creative. By responding openly and freely to new experiences, they accept the challenge to think differently.

All those who share the adventures of creativity are artists at heart.

The Skills to Persuade
The ancient Greeks discussed whether the poet, the painter, the musician or the architect was the most capable of influencing popular opinion. They were the persuasive speakers and publicists of the ancient world.

But not all artists were just publicists. They might be philosophers or prophets as well. The artist whose vision was most trusted was the most skilful at persuasion.

The same is true today.

The Power to Project
The traditional artistic skills are now the core elements in the major global industries of broadcasting, films, audio CDs, videos and video CDs, DVDs and publishing. Through the mass media, some artists have found worldwide audiences.

This globalisation has come at a price. Copyright and Performing Rights have become harder to monitor and protect. Creativity is sacrificed to the demands of mass markets and global business interests. The aim of Arts Interlink is to restore the balance.

Management is needed, but arts-led.

    Hands, do what you're bid:
Bring the balloon of the mind
That bellies and drags in the wind
    Into it's narrow shed.
    W.B. Yeats
