Short career outline Richard Mead PhD, MBA, teaches at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in the University of London, where he is the Convenor, MSc International Management for China. He worked as a designer for television and the theatre, before teaching in Sierra Leone and in universities in Libya, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Thailand (where he has a second home) and the United States. He has conducted courses and research consultancies in Brazil, Bahrein, Indonesia, Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China. His specialist area of interest concerns cross-cultural understandings within international management, where he is a leading authority. His books include International Management: Cross-Cultural Dimensions and Cases and Projects in International Management (both published by Blackwells). He is a consultant for Mentor (Educational) in Thailand and was the Simon Research Fellow at the Manchester Business School. He was a founder member and director of Arts Interlink.
