A.I. member, Professor Michael Hitchcock, is the director of The International Institute of Culture, Tourism and Development, one of the largest research centres of its kind in the world. It is based at the University of North London. The IICTD works locally and internationally through commissioned and collaborative work. The research staff is drawn from academic, industrial, government and voluntary sectors, presenting a multi-disciplined team. Specialist expertise exists in international tourism development, museums and heritage, parks and outdoor recreation, arts and the cultural industries, hospital, tourism planning and in area studies.
